Vehicle Crime

Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM) has a role in addressing vehicle crime, but actively supports partnerships to develop and deliver strategies and programmes to tackle the problem at a local level. For example, in late 2003 GOWM invited six Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP) in the region. To put forward plans on how they might do more work to address vehicle crime in their areas.

To support this process the CDRP’s were provided with a small amount of funding to establish a project and Consultants from the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science were made available to help in achieiving the targets. This included two seminars and the offer of more specific advisory sessions with each of the six CDRP’s.
