The panel selects the candidates for interview and then submits their recommendations for appointment to BERR ministers.
The BERR is keen that the panels reflect the diversity of each region, and are eager to receive applications from women, people with disabilities and black, minority ethnic people. The recruitment process is carried out in accordance with guidance issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
