John Curtis

John joined the Government Office as Deputy Director Crime and Drugs in July 2004, on loan from the Home Office. Previously he was head of HO, Regions and Renewal Unit, working on regional policy, local government and neighbourhood renewal issues.

His work in Government Office for the North West included the full range of home issues, crime reduction, drugs and voluntary and community sector. He followed this by a period in ODPM working on Neighbourhood Wardens.
Mr Curtis joined the Home office as Co-ordinator of Wolverhampton Safer Cities project, a local crime reduction initiative.
As a social worker he has worked for four local authorities and a national voluntary organisation within the youth justice field. He chairs a local children's charity based in the Black Country.
