Trudi Elliott -- Regional Director, GOWM

The Government Office for the West Midlands is one of nine Government Offices in the English regions delivering policies and programmes at regional and local level on behalf of 10 Government Departments. The Government Office is also accountable to the European Commission for managing European Structural Funds in the West Midlands region.

Trudi Elliott currently chairs the Regional Board, she leads for the Government Office network on the work of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and sits on the Government’s Interdepartmental Steering Group for 2012 Games.  She is the GO Network Diversity Champion.

Trudi has experience of working across all sectors – public, private and voluntary.  She has worked as a lawyer in both the public and private sectors including acting for a number of professional Football Clubs.  Her roles include previous Chief Executive of Bridgnorth District Council and Chief Executive of West Midlands Regional Assembly/WMLGA.
